Civ4: TDS Religions Mod

This mod restructures religions, and associated technologies, and also adds a new religion, Heathenry.

Heathenry is the native Religion of the Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Germanic Peoples. Heathen (Old English hæðen, Old Norse heiðinn) was coined as a translation of Latin paganus, in the Christian sense of "non-Abrahamic faith". In the Sagas, the terms heiðni and kristni (Heathenry and Christianity) are used as polar terms to describe the older and newer faiths.

Compatible with Beyond the Sword.

Time Line

Religions

Buddhism: Requires Philosophy. Buddhism now appears much latter in the game. Buddhism was founded by Siddhattha Gotama a spiritual teacher in the northern region of the Indian subcontinent from c. 563 BCE to 483 BCE

Confucianism: Requires Civil Service. Moved to make room for Taoism.

Heathenry: Requires Polytheism.

Hinduism: Requires Pantheism. Hindus belief God is of one unity, with the individual personal gods being aspects of the One, a view which is often considered by non-Hindus as being polytheistic.

Taoism: Requires Code of Laws. Moved to make room for Buddhism.

Technologies

Civil Service: First to discover founds Confucianism.

Code of Laws: First to discover founds Taoism.

Hunting: No longer starting technology for the Vikings. Starting technology for Spain.

Literature: The perquisite, Polytheism, has been changed to Priesthood. A single 'And Perquisite' is required yet Polytheism and Pantheism provides a richness of source for littery content. Priesthood requires Polytheism or Pantheism and so makes the logical single 'And Perquisite'.

Meditation: Merged with Priesthood now that Buddhism is no longer founded with the technology.

Mysticism: No longer starting technology for Spain because swapped with the Vikings. Starting technology for the Vikings because they gave us Norse mythology.

Pantheism: New technology available with Mysticism and leads to Priesthood. First to discover founds Hinduism. Angkor Wat world wonder is available with philosophy.

Philosophy: First to discover founds Buddhism. Shwedagon Paya world wonder is available with aesthetics.

Polytheism: First to discover founds Heathenry.

Priesthood: Monasteries are now available with Priesthood and the cost of the technology has been increased slightly.
